Donate Your Car and Change Lives!
Vehicles For Change is the only organization that has repaired and awarded over 2,800 cars to low-income families in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC since October 1999. The majority of VFC recipients are single mothers with two or more children. They want desperately to provide for their children. Without transportation it is impossible to take their children to daycare and get to work. Your donated car can change their lives and help put them on the road to financial independence.

Those receiving cars obtain better jobs and take children to after-school, athletic and recreational activities never before possible. (See survey results "Changing Lives")

Please note that all cars are not awarded to recipients. It depends on the condition, year and mileage of the vehicle. If your car cannot be used it will be sold and 100% of the funds received will be used to repair other cars. Also note that when VFC sells a car at the auction a fulltime VFC staff member reviews every sale to assure that we receive the highest possible bid. This assures that our donors receive the greatest possible deduction. (This is not true of most any other nonprofit.)

Many donors have found that by donating their car to VFC they were able to deduct the full Fair Market Value of the car. This can often be a deduction of more than $3000 over the auction amount that most other nonprofits can provide. VFC meets all the State and Federal requirements to assure your donation is tax deductible per IRS regulations.

IMPORTANT:
VFC will accept cars of any age in any condition. Only the cars in good condition and typically 1994 or newer may be awarded to a worthy family. These are the cars eligible for the Fair Market Value deduction.

Titles and keys are required for all donations.
