How To: Keep Your Car Safe During A Hurricane
October 29, 2012 by Administrator

With Hurricane Sandy rapidly approaching, Vehicles for Change put together these suggestions for keeping your car secure during storms:

  • If you live in a flood-inclined area, move your car to higher grounds. If possible, park in a parking garage that is a few stories high.
  • Protect your car from falling debris by parking inside, if possible. If you do not have a garage, keep your car parked far away from trees or telephone poles.
  • Check your insurance coverage. To file a claim for storm damage, you need to have “comprehensive” coverage on your policy.

Stay safe! Remember to have an emergency kit of water, food and flashlights in your home during any storm.
