Word of mouth is a very effective way to get the message out about our services!     Below are samples of information that can be copied and placed in a newsletter, website  or church or school bulletin. Car maintenance costs are rising, so every penny you donate goes directly to repairing vehicles to get our families on the road more quickly! To donate, just click the "Donate" button below.

4. Build Nonprofit Partnerships

 VFC is establishing win-win partnerships with other nonprofit organizations. The nonprofit communicates information pertaining to donating a car to VFC and for every car donated VFC will reward the nonprofit partner with $150. CHANGING LIVES WITH DONATED CARS

(Your organization name) would like to introduce you to a unique nonprofit partner. Together we are providing a valuable tool to eliminate poverty and strengthen families. We would like to invite you to donate your car to Vehicles for Change. They will award it to a low-income family and you will receive the fair market value deduction.

VfC exists so that low-income families can achieve financial and personal independence that comes from owning a vehicle. VfC repairs and sells, at a minimal fee, donated cars to low-income families for employment purposes. Jobs, daycare, doctors and even grocery stores are unavailable without a car. Since October 1999 more than 9,000 lives have been changed and 3,000 cars awarded with 40 - 50 more cars awarded each month. The recipient receives a VfC guaranteed loan, allowing them to establish credit while paying for their car along with a 6-month/6,000-mile warranty.

Owing a car does make a significant difference. A recent survey showed that 73 percent of the recipients obtained better jobs at an average salary increase of $4,800. More than 90 percent of our recipients are single moms with two or more children. These moms are able to spend more time at home and are taking their children to after-school, recreational and athletic activities never before possible. No longer are the children at home unattended for hours on end. They are getting a better education and are participating in team sports that help provide an alternative to crime and drugs. It gives the children a sense of hope and the parents that great feeling of being able to provide a better life for their children.

How you can help!

If you donate a car in good condition, Vehicles for Change will award it to a worthy family and you can deduct the “fair market value.” The tax law change in 2005 provides donors a “fair market value” deduction only if the nonprofit sells the car to a low income family significantly less than market. Consequently, donors to Vehicles for Change may deduct the fair market value of the car donation. A win–win for the donor and the worthy family receiving the car. (Vehicles for Change does accept cars in any condition, but only the cars awarded to worthy families qualify for the higher deduction. Other cars are sold and 100 percent of the funds received are used to make the awarded cars road worthy.)
