Vehicles for Change Capital Campaign

Those familiar with the Vehicles for Change program understand that car ownership has a tremendous impact on the life of a family.

A vehicle meant that Nicole Miller, a single mother with four children, could pursue her degree while she worked full-time. A car enabled Ana Valdez to start a new life after leaving an abusive relationship and open her own nonprofit to help victims of domestic violence.

Over the past thirteen years, VFC has grown to reach new heights and families. In July 2012 we purchased a 33,000 sq. ft warehouse, at 4111 Washington Boulevard, which will house the VFC and Freedom Wheels programs and provide space for an automotive training center.

Now We Need Your Help

Several renovations are needed before all functions can move into the new building. One of the most important features of our new space will be the addition of an eight-bay garage, which will allow VFC to bring nearly all repairs in-house. This will cut costs, improve turn-around time and allow us to assist more families.

Other needed renovations include: paving the parking lot, painting the exterior of the building and installing powered garage doors and electric gates, to ensure the security of our vehicles and the safety of our staff.

While we hope to fund these renovations through foundation grants, Vehicles for Change is holding a capital campaign to raise funds for these repairs. Our goal for this campaign is to raise $600,000.

So far, $135,375 has been raised towards our goal.
