Mercury Sable Puts Mom on the Road

Danieshia Conley is a 36-year-old mother of one young son. Danieshia did not own a vehicle and relied on borrowing various family members’ vehicles to get to work and to her son’s daycare center. This was not a reliable transportation solution because these vehicles were not always available. When Danieshia was unable to borrow a vehicle, she had to call off of work because she had no alternate transportation. The same was true getting her son to and from daycare. In November 2015, Vehicles for Change, in partnership with Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency, awarded Danieshia a 2002 Mercury Sable.

Owning a vehicle allows Danieshia to drive her son to daycare and arrive safely at work every day. The security of her Mercury Sable allows Danieshia to provide for her family.
