Ready for Spare Time

Rashidah Hardie lives only five miles from her job, but it takes her two hours and three buses to get there. She is a single mother to a two-year-old son, who she has to take to daycare everyday. It is difficult riding the bus to work and daycare, and is extremely time consuming. She has to wake up at 5 a.m. and walk 10 minutes to the bus stop, then walk 20 minutes to daycare after the bus. Waiting outside in the cold is also hard for her and her son.
Rashidah has difficulties taking her son places without a vehicle. She has to call a cab if she gets stuck at work since the buses stop running at six-o-clock. She has difficulty paying bills and groceries because it all adds up, especially transportation costs.

Rashidah plans to use her new car to take her son to Chuck-E-Cheese. She also wants to be able to help other people who may be in the same predicament she was in.
