On May 15, 2025, beneath the lights of the Maryland Live Hotel & Casino, ASOTU CON (Automotive State of the Union Conference) delivered a moment that went far beyond expectations. Known for its creative twists and unforgettable surprises, this industry event once again lived up to its reputation. This time, by changing lives through transportation.

In a room filled with automotive innovators, dealership leaders, and entrepreneurs, Vehicles for Change and our partners at ASOTU intentionally shifted the spotlight to something deeply meaningful: second chances made possible through reliable transportation.

Through our car award program, Vehicles for Change awarded two families reliable, low-cost vehicles. The surprise caught many attendees off guard and filled the room with tears and applause. For the recipients and their families, the moment marked the beginning of a brand-new chapter.

One mother stood alongside her partner and two young children, overwhelmed with emotion. She had spent months living in temporary housing while managing chronic medical conditions, balancing work responsibilities, and fighting to rebuild stability after a difficult season.

Another mother, raising six children, can now drive her kids to school and extracurricular activities and take on extra shifts at work, bringing her family closer to the financial freedom she has worked so hard to achieve.
