A VFC recipient has a memorable Valentine’s Day

Krystal Parker and her children received a Valentine’s Day present they may never forget. Krystal Parker, a resident of Brooklyn Maryland, was extremely happy to drive her 2004 Ford Focus station wagon off of the Vehicles for Change lot on February 14, 2014!

Prior to receiving this car, Parker and her two children, ages 10 and 6, were not returning home at night until 2 or 3 a.m. Parker works until 11 p.m. and would have to take the bus to go pick her children up after work. Regardless of the weather, Parker’s only option was the bus.

“In the snow, we were on the bus stop”, she states.

Parker and her children’s lives have been changed drastically- their commute has been shortened to only an hour and they no longer have to stand on the bus stop in wintry weather. Parker states that her children are excited and happy about their new vehicle!

Parker is truly appreciative of Vehicles for Change: “It was a wonderful experience. I am willing to share the news with everyone who is looking for a car. It is an excellent program”.
