Ford Contour Helps Woman Save Money

LaRosa Butler is a 43-year-old woman who shares her home with her adult son. LaRosa counted on public transportation that was unable to get her to and from work every day. Her long-time employer reduced her hours but offered to increase LaRosa’s working hours if she could secure reliable transportation. LaRosa began renting a vehicle to ensure she could get to the job she loved, but the expense each week was very high. LaRosa was unable to save any money.

In November 2015, Vehicles for Change, in partnership with Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency, awarded LaRosa a 1998 Ford Contour.

LaRosa is able to work more hours at the job she loves, earn more money and reduce her expenses because she does not have to rent a car.
