“VFC Has Already Changed My Life”: Recipeint Story
October 1, 2014After becoming homeless, Farmer recalls fighting for her and her daughter’s survival. She was forced to move in with her father, making their commute to work and school even longer.
“VFC has already changed my life,” she said. Farmer received a 2004 Chevrolet Impala with 107,804 miles on September 26, 2014.
With a car, Farmer will be able to work multiple jobs and re-enroll into school. She is pursuing her degree in massage therapy.
Farmer is most excited about the impact the car will have on her daughter. Farmer will be able to drop her daughter off at school for the first time this winter instead of walking a mile to the bus in the wintery weather. This vehicle will help her daughter from getting sick again this year, as her asthma causes her lungs to fill up with mucus in the cold weather. The VFC team is happy to award Farmer and her daughter a safe and reliable mode of transportation, a way to keep them warm during the winter months ahead, and provide an opportunity to create warm memories.
