Better Shifts, Equals Brighter Future
November 23, 2016Ebony Hagen is a 31-year-old mother of a 12-year-old daughter. Ebony works as a part time home healthcare aide, a job that requires her to transport her patients for medical appointments and errands. Without a car, Ebony had difficulty performing her job and her income suffered. Her employer told Ebony that she would receive more hours if she could secure reliable transportation.
Vehicle ownership allows Ebony to work more hours, perform all of the requirements of her job, and earn more income. “Having a car allows me to pick up more shifts at work to increase my income,” she says. Ebony is also able to take her daughter to a better school that to improve her education.
