Car Allows Mom to Pursue Degree

Dia Word is a hardworking young mother of a three-year-old son, in pursuit of a dream. She struggled this past year to get herself to work and school, and on top of this also taking her son to school. Dia set a goal for herself to continue her education, but paying for school left her without the funds to buy a car.
In July 2016, Vehicles for Change awarded Dia with a car. She is now able to get to and from work easily, in addition to driving her son to school everyday. She will continue to pursue her dream by enrolling in nursing school. Her new car plus a degree in nursing will allow Dia to cruise toward her dream of financial freedom.
