Meet Morgan from Delaware!

We don’t know about you, but we could certainly use a pick-me-up! Meet Morgan, one of our recent vehicle recipients. She’s 27-years-old and a single mother of a beautiful 4-year-old daughter. When Morgan was 16 years old, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis – a long-lasting disease that can affect your brain, spinal cord and the optic nerves in your eyes.

Morgan’s had her fair share of challenges over the years – access to safe, RELIABLE transportation being one of them. As a Delaware resident working for a small organic cosmetics brand, she would have to take public transportation or get rides from her mother to get where she needed to go. She did her best to manage, but lack of a vehicle started to cut into her daughter’s life because she was often late to school and at risk of losing her enrollment spot.

But, since the time Morgan got a call from Vehicles for Change, things are starting to look a little brighter for her and her family. Thanks to her newly awarded Nissan SUV, she’ll have a way to get to work, take family members to doctor’s appointments and have a method to get her daughter to school on time. Next steps for Morgan? Pursuing her Master’s degree and ultimately opening her own nonprofit organization to help other young women who suffer from MS.
