“My son and I couldn’t do certain things because of distance. I could only go so far and pay so much to use public transportation. By the time I got to my destination, I was so tired because so much time is taken up on buses.” says King.

With her new vehicle, King is excited to “start off doing small things” like going to the laundromat, and going to the grocery store to buy all the food that she needs, rather than only buying what she can carry. She is also excited to spend more time with her six-year-old son, Joshua, and visiting her family more frequently.

“Sometimes it’s not always the matter of having money, but sometimes the means to get places. Vehicles For Change helped me get on my feet and have the luxury that people take advantage of,” says King.
